Alice has been lobbying for years for us to go to Yosemite, so we finally made it there as an 8th anniversary trip. The weather was perfect on the first day, then clouded up and drizzled a bit on the second. (The following weekend, they had flash floods that closed the valley and stranded a number of people.)
We stayed at the Narrow Gauge Inn (pictured at left, with link), just outside the southern boundary of the park. It's a beautiful pseudo-rustic place whose claim to fame is that it is adjacent to...well, a narrow gauge railroad. That is an old logging train that still runs through the woods, carrying tourists (including us). It uses an honest-to-god old steam locomotive.
